The United States was offered the first two Hartnell seasons in 1965, but no sale eventuated. In 1972, the US was sold a 72-episode package of Jon Pertwee stories, via Time-Life Films, which didn't really set the world on fire. But six years later in 1978, Time-Life Television distributed episodes starring an actor by the name of Tom Baker...
