[VERY ROUGH DRAFT]

Welcome to BroaDWcast, the first (and so far only, at least that we know of) comprehensive online guide to the foreign airdates and worldwide transmissions of Doctor Who.

Over the years, the BBC has claimed that "Doctor Who has been seen by 100 million viewers in 60 countries around the world".

But who were these 60 countries? When did Doctor Who screen there? What stories were broadcast, and what stories weren't? And do any of those 110 million viewers have a copy of missing story Marco Polo?

In BroaDWcast you'll find the answers to these questions - and more (except for the bit about Marco Polo).

In these pages, you will find:

  • Profiles on the 70+ countries where classic Doctor Who aired between the years 1964 and 1997
  • Airdates
  • Episode titles in foreign languages
  • Images of TV listings from foreign newspapers and magazines
  • Summaries of the sales of the first seven "classic series" Doctors; which of their stories screened and where?
  • Translations of some of the Arabic version narrations
  • Explanations of the different formats in which the series was aired
  • Which stories were sold to the most number of countries
  • Which stories were sold to the least number of countries
  • Checklist of the official BBC Records that has been researched
  • General notes for all stories

Your help is needed

As with any research of this nature, there are gaps in the information - and perhaps even errors. If you can assist us in any way by filling in any of the gaps, or if you've got additional information, such as foreign newspaper articles, clippings, copies of TV listings, or sales literature that we can use, or if you spot something that is wrong or you plain just disagree with, please drop us a line at:

And to whet your appetite, here are FIFTY factoids that you will find within these pages:
