When Doctor Who screened in Dominican Republic in 1968, the population was around 4 million, and licensed TV sets numbered only 50,000 (per WRTH, 1966).

There were two TV stations: Radio Santo Domingo-TV, which operated channels 2,4,9, and Rahintel Television, channel 7.

The main language of Dominican Republic is Spanish. It is the only Caribbean country to screen Doctor Who that broadcast in that language.

The Eighties the Lost Chapters records a sale of 7 stories (by 10 February 1987) to Dominica. It is assumed that this is actually Dominican Republic rather than the small island nation of Dominica which did not have a television service.
