The BBC aired in-season repeats and Doctor Who seasons (e.g. "The Five Faces of Doctor Who"). The actors' union Equity originally limited the number of repeats that could be shown, although that restriction would ease in later years.


Superchannel

Superchannel was a satellite channel owned by ITV that also broadcast BBC programs. Episodes of Doctor Who aired 24 March 1987-6 August 1989.

Doctor Who aired on the Galaxy channel of BSB, 1 April-1 December, 1990. A special Doctor Who weekend aired 22-23 Septebmer, 1990, presented in part by John Nathan-Turner and featured interviews with Sylvester McCoy, Carole Ann Ford, Elisabeth Sladen, Nicholas Courtney, William Russell, Gerry Davis and Raymond Cusick.


UK Gold

UK Gold was a British satellite channel specializing in repeats. It aired Doctor Who from 2 November 1992 to 14 April 2007. The channel has since been renamed Gold.


BBC Prime

BBC Prime was an European station that could be received in the UK. It aired Doctor Who as early as 22 July 1995 and as late as 5 October 1996.
