We are uncertain as to whether or not Doctor Who aired on a Rhode Island station:
East Providence
- In the March 1979 issue of Starlog (issue 21; cover dated April), a reader from East Providence, Rhode Island, wrote to say she had become hooked on Doctor Who with the Tom Baker stories. It is not known if this was on a local Rhode Island station, or whether she had been watching broadcasts from Boston, Massachusetts, which Rhode Islanders could receive. (September 1984 editions of the Providence Journal contain only TV listings for WGBH (Doctor Who was airing weekdays, 7.00pm to 7.30pm), which suggests it was indeed Boston transmissions that she had been viewing in 1979.)
