Population

When Doctor Who screened in Ghana in 1966, the population was 7 million and licensed TV sets numbered only 1,000 (per WRTH, 1966).

TV & system

Ghana began its television service in 1954. Colour transmissions began in 1980 using the PAL colour broadcast system. In 1965 there was just one television station: Ghana Radio and Television Corporation, a government-owned broadcaster.
