- 1 January 1979: The Tom Baker stories begin, weeknights at 6pm.
- 18 January 1980: The series stops.
- 28 September 1980: The series returns, now at 5pm.
- 7 June 1982: After a complete run, the series moves to 10pm.
- 1990: Screened the 24 repackaged Jon Pertwee stories.
- 2 April 2016: Following a run of the new series episodes, the Tom Baker stories are repeated, shown as omnibuses, Saturdays at 10pm. 6-parters are split in half, with parts 1-3 one week, then 4-6 the following week.
- 1 April 2017: The Peter Davison stories commence. Rights issues prevent Earthshock, The Five Doctors and Resurrection of the Daleks from playing.
- 9 September 2017: The Colin Baker stories play; Revelation of the Daleks is skipped.
- 11 November 2017: Tom Baker is repeated - two full omnibus stories air each Saturday night. The run stops at The Invasion of Time.
- 7 April 2018: Two Peter Davison stories air each Saturday, followed by Colin Baker in the same pattern. The Davisons and Bakers are then repeated until 18 November 2018.
- 16 December 2018: Another showing of the Tom Baker "movies", which play through to the end of 2019 and on into 2020...
- 21 November 2020: The series ends following a run of "Tom Baker Movies".
