- 11 October 1976: The Jon Pertwee stories began, daily at 6:30pm.
- 1978: WXXI screened the Tom Baker stories from 1978.
- 23 November 1983: The Five Doctors airs.
- 1985: Channel 21 recycles stories from Robot to The Caves of Androzani daily at least twice.
- 1989: As part of a pledge drive, WXXI-TV showed the documentary Doctor Who's Who's Who as a lead-in to the season premiere Remembrance of the Daleks.
- 1989: The station aired the 17 repackaged William Hartnell stories, five Patrick Troughton stories and 24 Jon Pertwee stories, followed by the other Doctors.
- 1989-1992: It took three years to play all the surviving installments of the entire series. This would be WXXI's last-ever complete run of the entire series...

- 25 October 1977: WNED screened Doctor Who, weeknights at 6.30pm in tandem with WXXI (from 1977 through until 1987). It was during screenings of the Jon Pertwee stories in 1977/78 that off-air recordings were made which were later instrumental in the reconstruction from black and white back into colour.
- 1979: The series airs weeknights at 6.00pm.
- 1982: Peter Davison stories commence in movie format on Saturday afternoons. Repeats of older serial continue screening weekdays.
- 1983: The Monday to Thursday weekday slot moves to 11.00pm.
- 23 November 1983: The Five Doctors airs.
- 1984: The Monday to Thursday weekday slot moves back to 6.00pm.
- May 1984: The Tom Baker stories air: the run reaches Pyramids of Mars by May.
- 1984: The 24 repackaged Jon Pertwee stories air.
- 10 October 1986: The weekday episodic re-runs come to an end in the fall of 1986 with part six of The Invasion of Time.
- From Saturday, 11 October 1986, only "movie" format editions screen (starting with The Ribos Operation).
- 13 December 1986: During a pledge drive, WNED screens Revelation of the Daleks, the Doctor Who's Who's Who documentary and An Unearthly Child. The 17 repackaged William Hartnell stories commence on Saturday afternoons.
- 7,14,21,28 March 1987: Part-way through the run of William Hartnell stories, WNED screens The Trial of a Time Lord, as four "movie-length" installments.
- 1987 WNED completes its screening of the William Hartnell stories, and commences the Patrick Troughton stories.
- 30 May and 6 June 1987: The Seeds of Death screens, split into two "movies".
- 17 June and 24 June 1987: The War Games screens, split into two "movies".
- March 1988: During the "FESTIVAL 88", on 8 March at 8.00pm and 12 March at 3.15pm, WNED aired Time and the Rani, plus an interview with Sylvester McCoy.
- Summer 1988 In the summer of 1988, the first season of Sylvester McCoy stories air.
- 1989: The 17 repackaged William Hartnell stories are played for the second time, on Saturdays at 4.00pm.
- 30 December 1989: The final edition of Doctor Who to screen on WNED airs - The Space Museum.

- June 1978: WOR was selected by Time Life Television to be one of its guinea-pigs to test a new series that Time Life had on offer from the BBC... In June 1978, WOR aired an omnibus edition of The Hand of Fear...
- 7 October 1978: At 6.30pm, Tom Baker makes his debut in New York State.
- Stories aired in production order, so The Sontaran Experiment preceded The Ark in Space.
- From 6 January 1979, the series shifted to the earlier time of 5.00pm, but was often pre-empted by baseball.
- From August 1982, to October 1983, two episodes aired back to back with commercial breaks, Saturdays between 10:00am and 11:00am.
- 5 February 1983: Revenge of the Cybermen episodes 2 and 3 aired. The Howard Da Silva prints were still being used at this point.
- By February 1991, Doctor Who had been dropped.

- 1986: WNYC screened the 17 repackaged William Hartnell stories, five Patrick Troughton stories and 24 Jon Pertwee stories, on Fridays, in omnibus editions, usually from 9.00 to 10.30pm.
- When Resurrection of the Daleks aired in its omnibus "movie" version on WNYC, it was complete: most editions of this story seen elsewhere in the US had sections of music and special effects missing.
- January 1988: Apart from Time and the Rani, which aired in the first month of 1988, WNYC never screened any stories beyond Revelation of the Daleks.
